ShareBoating is the first bilingual digital marine marketplace.
What is ShareBoating?
ShareBoating has created a unique, bilingual digital marketplace aimed at introducing water recreation and training to New Zealanders, particularly those in the growing Asian Community. This includes four key services:
- Select group charters for sailing, fishing, cruising and sightseeing
- A wide range of training, including Coastguard Boating Education, Junior Learn to Sail.
- Brokerage and concierge to know you’ve bought the right boat and enjoy using it.
- Events for corporate and the wider community.
ShareBoating is the first digital platform for the yachting industry in New Zealand. It offers the capability for sharing stories and value-added services and yachting management. ShareBoating was the inspiration and collaboration of long-standing educational expertise, professionals in the yachting industry and a world-renowned yacht club.
By integrating the core elements of boating as a recreation, a sport and an enterprise, ShareBoating offers a unique digital platform to take advantage of this world-renowned lifestyle. ShareBoating also facilitates events promoting the yachting and exploring the success secrets behind New Zealand’s Olympic sailing and America’s Cup-winning teams and the Hutchwilco NZ Boat Show to the wider community.

ShareBoating originated within the Institute of Commercial Education of New Zealand. The institute has offered education and training to local and international students for over 20 years. Founded by Wayne Huang, he is the Rear Commodore of Bucklands Beach Yacht Club, the first Asian Rear Commodore in New Zealand. He is well known for his service to business, sport and engagement of the community.

The Opportunity
